Dr Leslie Lam

Dr Leslie Lam graduated from The University of Melbourne, Australia and is qualified as a Chemical Pathologist. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath), Diplomate of American Board of Clinical Chemistry (DABCC), Fellow of the AACC Academy (FAACC), Member of Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (MAACB) and Fellow of Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

Dr Lam was previously the founding Head and Senior Consultant of Department of Laboratory Medicine, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Currently, Dr Lam hold multiple portfolios, including President of the Singapore Association of Clinical Biochemists (SACB), Visiting Consultant at Department of Pathology, Sengkang General Hospital, Member of Ministry of Health Pathology Specialist Training Committee, Member of Panel of Advisors, Health Sciences Authority External Quality Assessment Program in Clinical Chemistry, etc.

Dr Lam is interested in the areas of laboratory management and quality assurance. Dr Lam has been invited to chair and speak at numerous conferences as key opinion leader and has also published widely.

Ai Teng started her career in the world of Laboratory Medicine in Clinical Chemistry, National University Hospital upon graduation from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She pursued further education at University of New South Wales and University of West of England. She is currently a Principal Medical Technologist at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at National University Hospital.

Ms Joanne Lee

Ms. Joanne Lee is presently Senior Manager at Parkway Laboratories overseeing quality management, scientific and technical, staff training and development and laboratory information system matters in the organisation.

Previously, Joanne was Senior Principal Scientific Officer at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and was responsible for scientific and technical matters, quality management, laboratory operations, staff training and development, laboratory procurement and laboratory information system. Joanne, who was a pioneer in building the JurongHealth Campus, played an important role in planning, designing and building the Department of Laboratory Medicine. She also served as secretariat for NTFGH Point-of-Care Testing Committee, member of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Allied Health Panel for Medical Laboratory Technologist and held many other appointments.

Joanne holds a MSc graduate from University of Surrey, UK and has MAACB certification. She has published several scientific papers and speaks regularly at local and international conferences.

Ms Ummi Kulsum

Ms Ummi Kulsum is presently Senior Medical Informatics Specialist at National University Health System (NUHS). With over a decade of experience across clinical chemistry, immunology, serology, laboratory automation, and diagnostic technology, she has served in major public and private healthcare institutions. Throughout her career in laboratory medicine, she performed and validated complex laboratory tests, led analyzer evaluations, optimized workflows, and supported MOH, ISO15189, and CAP accreditation. As a senior member of multiple laboratory teams, she has overseen quality assurance programs, conducted audits, developed training frameworks, and managed LIS configurations and troubleshooting.

Following after her clinical laboratory career, she advanced into the vendor space, joining Abbott Diagnostics as a Technical Application Specialist. During which, she continued to bridge laboratory operations with advanced diagnostic systems, providing technical expertise, workflow customization, and user training to support high‑quality laboratory medicine.

In her current role in Medical Informatics, Ms Ummi design, optimizes, and maintain digital workflows that support laboratory operations, ensuring that laboratory information systems, middleware platforms, analyzers and electronic medical records communicate reliably.

Ms Ho Mun Jun has seven years of experience in medical laboratory science across both private and public healthcare settings. Recently transitioning into a client-facing role within the healthcare industry, Mun Jun brings a strong clinical foundation combined with a passion for building meaningful relationships. Driven by continuous learning and professional development, Mun Jun is committed to delivering value, embracing new challenges, and growing both personally and professionally.
